Painted paper collaged on Fabriano paper. MiYoung Sohn (born in Busan, South Korea) transforms everyday materials to translate her observations to create a new interpretation of her daily experience. Her sculptures, installations, and works on paper are often process-driven and labor-intensive. Living on the tip of Cape Cod year-round navigating solitude and isolation, MiYoung looked inwardly to explore intuitive and experimental processes in her Daily Collage Series. She uses commonly accessible materials such as paper, paint, and glue to create colorful, abstract, and whimsical compositions.
