Jackie Reeves is a Cape Cod based multidisciplinary artist working across large-scale painting, drawing, installation, collage, and animation. Her work combines figurative and abstract elements through layered mark-making, material experimentation, and an ongoing exploration of process, memory, and transformation. She earned her MFA in Painting from Massachusetts College of Art and Design through the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown.
Reeves has exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions throughout New England and nationally, with her work featured in The Boston Globe, WHITEHOT Magazine, Art New England, and Artscope.
She is the 2026 recipient of the Artist of the Year award from the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, recognized alongside collaborator Lauren Wolk for their work on the InkLine Project, a collaborative series pairing her moving imagery with poetry and music.
Following Footprints is the subject for Stellar, one of the first films produced by The InkLine Project, a collaboration in which Jackie Reeves creates animations based on her artwork and Lauren Wolk adds poetry and found music in response.
Jackie says of the painting, “This piece is part of a larger series in which I draw from my mother’s photographs taken at summer camp in the 1950s, reinterpreting them through my own lens to explore our shared lineage. In Following Footprints, I focused on a young woman looking downward, observing something unseen. Her relaxed, contemplative pose led me to reimagine her in fluid acrylic on fabric, allowing the image to shift and dissolve as it emerges.”
